We have more than 20 ewes on the farm that graze on our pastures together with the rams and lambs throughout the summer. They pick their grass and herb of choice depending on what they find tasty and nutritious. They stay outside all year round, even when our lambs are born in April. During winter they can shelter in their shed but they usually prefer to be in the snow. When they cannot graze they have home grown silage to eat. This means that our sheep grow at their own pace and feel good.
The lambs are butchered only 10 km from the farm, at Strömbeck’s Farm Butchery in Illstorp, a small-scale slaughterhouse where the lamb is handled with calm and respect. The lamb is then hung for a few days at the slaughterhouse before it is cut. You can order a whole or a half lamb meat box, or minced lamb.
